Energy can be saved through sharing appliances (for instance by using a beamer to watch film and television). Energy plays an important part in automation.

Estimates of total costs range from 7 (for a 200 MW plant) and 21 (for a 5 MW plant) euro cents per kWh to 25-35 cents per kWh.[17]

Capacity (guesstimate) 10 Watt x 10,000 = 100 MW

kwh per person 0,6 x 365 x 40 x 0,07 = 613 EUR out of total budget 7,000 EUR

0,9 x ... = 920 EUR

Highest kwh price: ... x 0,35 = 3,000 EUR

Average electricity use: [18] 5 x ... 4,800 EUR

Energy saved by replacing televisions and desktop computers by beamers and ipads seems to be a factor 10. Combining that with the lowest price comes to a favorable result (613 EUR / 7,000 EUR). This is all without heating and cooling, and a lot of other things.
