Drinking water
Drinking can be obtained from rainwater collection.
Through boiling salt water, if there is an ocean nearby and if a solar power tower is used for energy production.
Water for hygiene
Hygiene may require a lot of water. Dishes, clothes and bodies have to be washed. Rivers, oceans and lakes are the obvious primitive ways.
Water for cooking
Cooking kills bacteriae so cooking is at the same time purification. Water that's not consumed (when cooking macaroni for instance) could be reused as drinking water.
Cooking for three minutes kills all bacterae and viruses while cooking for five minutes kill amoebae [1].
This also makes soup a good way to get your daily water. Soup can be stored in the refrigerator.

Water and automation
